the buttons can only be pressed if there is an arch inbetween the path from last button to the one youre pressing. a straight path that lets the light go through the arch. at the beginning only the tower is active, so you have to connect the tower to a button nearby to get it onto the ground

At level 5 there's a part of a large garden that's divided into two sections. There's a tower that connects to a light, and it says to connect those lights in a straight line, I think. There are also these pillars with lights that have buttons, but I can't press them and I can't interact with the lights or anything. Is there something I'm missing, or is it just a bug?

the dice puzzle is a little complicated tbf. basically, the dice is a giant compass with 1 being north, 4 being the sky, and 6 being the ground. the riddles all mention the cardinal directions and the code is the numbers that they relate to according to the dice.
